Vietnamese child prodigy Đỗ Nhật Nam released his latest book and announced his new role as a magazine editor during a talk show in Hồ Chí Minh City on August 3.
My Parents Have Won My Heart is an autobiographical account of the simple stories of his home life.
The 13-year old writer will fly to the US to continue studying there starting August 10.
He also confirmed that he will assume a role as the chief editor of the Creative Mélange, an international magazine for teenagers.
The young writer was praised as Việt Nam’s youngest translator for translating books written by author Jacqui Bailey and illustrator Matthew Lilly at the age of 7.
His books Sun Up, Sun Down: the Story of Day and Night and Charged Up: the Story of Electricity, were both published in the series Science Works and brought the second-grader national fame.
In Vietnamese he authored Tớ đã học tiếng Anh như thế nào? (How Did I Study English?) and Những con chữ biết hát (Letters that Can Sing).
Nam was also known as a popular blogger who released video clips in English.
