Spectators packed the stages to watch the fifth festival of Vietnamese martial arts in central Bình Định Province on Saturday with the participation of over 1,500 international instructors and students.
Sixty foreign teams of 26 Vietnamese martial arts factions including Phi Long Vinh, Thủy Pháp, Cửu Long Võ Đạo, Tinh Võ Đạo, Tráng Sĩ Đạo, Việt Võ Đạo, Lam Sơn Võ Đạo and Sơn Long Quyền Thuật performed their elite martial arts.
Famous domestic martial arts centers including Lý Xuân Hỷ, Lê Xuân Cảnh, Phan Thọ and Hồ Sừng hosted the event, during which they showcased many of their students’ talents.
Belgian student John Phillippe of the Thủy Pháp martial arts faction said:
“The festival is a great chance for me to learn more about the origin of the sport I am training in.”
Different factions of Vietnamese martial arts have become well known across the world, especially in France, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Austria and the Congo.
At the event, which is annually organized in Bình Định, Japanese instructors and learners introduced their traditional martial arts, namely karatedo, sumo, and kendo.
