37-year-old Lê Hải Bình, the deputy spokesman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been appointed its spokesman.
The appointment was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phạm Bình Minh on February 8.

Also under the decision, Bình, who started working for the ministry in 2000, will work as acting director of the Press and Information Department of the ministry.

Before taking the new role, Bình had been Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Policy and Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister since December 2008.
State President Trương Tấn Sang had previously appointed the former spokesperson Lương Thanh Nghị as ambassador to Australia, Vanuatu, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Solomon Islands.
