A house in Hồ Chí Minh City’s Bình Thanh District designed by renowned Vietnamese architect Võ Trọng Nghĩa and Japan’s Sanuki + Nishizawa Architects has been named among the world’s best five new private houses by British magazine Wallpaper.
Designed for an older couple and their son’s family, Bình Thạnh House has spaces catering to the younger family enveloped in walls of concrete pattern blocks, providing privacy.
Between them are open areas that secure natural light for the interiors and allow the residents to experience the elements.
The architects have created a home rooted in tradition but responsive to the needs of a young family.
Bình Thạnh House
It is rated highly for its mixture between concrete and green spaces.
The others in the top five are Karri Loop House in Australia, Tower House in the US, Tower House in Spain, and Geneses House in Brazil.
Wallpaper magazine focuses on travel, design, entertainment, fashion, and media.
