Lô Hương Trâm, a 24-year-old beauty, will represent Việt Nam at Miss International 2013 contest in Tokyo, Japan.
Trâm was born into a military family in the central province of Nghệ An and graduated from Hanoi’s University of Trade in Business Trade Administration.
She was named beauty queen at Miss Jewelry contest earlier this year and was in the top five of a Coffee Queen contest winning an extra prize for Best Áo dài (Vietnamese long dress).
Trâm has one year’s experience in the fashion industry and has been trained by veteran model Thúy Hằng at BB Plus Academy & Entertainment in Hà Nội.
Trâm has received sponsorship from designer Lan Hương for áo dài and Eva de Eva brand for casual wear and evening gowns for the contest.
This year’s contest has the participation of 72 beauties from around the world.
Việt Nam has joined the contest since 2006.
Noticeably, city model Trương Thị Trúc Diễm was in the top 15 of Miss International in 2011.
Miss International debuted in 1960 in California in the U.S.
It has been held in Japan since 1968 and is one of five prestigious beauty pageants around the world.
Its aims are to find a beauty queen who has made great contributions to world peace and is active in social activities.
The winner will be named the ‘Ambassador of Peace and Beauty’ during her crowning term on coronation night on December 17.
